We ask that you bring a main or side dish, dessert or appetizer that may reflect your ethnic heritage to share with members of our community.
The Multicultural Picnic is just around the corner and we need your help! We would LOVE to hear from you about fun ways to share your culture or a culture you know/love.
- Perhaps you’d be willing to perform a reading, dance, song or instrument?
- Could you lead folks in a game, dance, craft or other activity?
- Or perhaps share pictures, objects, or stories of a particular place, holiday or set of customs?
To make this year’s multicultural celebration a great success, please contact: Simone Taubenberger (617-271-3455) or Judy Chang (412-654-6600) with your ideas, suggestions, or interest in volunteering/helping out.
We look forward to seeing you at this fun event!
On Thursday, second grade took a field trip to the Humane Animal Rescue shelter in the East End. While at the shelter, the animals received attention and socialization as the children sat near by reading some of their favorite stories to them.
Children also paid close attention to detail as they did observational drawings of the animals. This action brings an awareness to the surface which allows for a deeper understanding and can provoke further questioning. It was evident by the expressions of the children and animals that connections were made today. It was a heartwarming experience for all. Visit our Vidigami site for more photos.
