His talk has inspired many to pursue their dreams while also finding comfort and grounding in who they are.
If you're not already familiar with GOTR, it is a wonderful girls youth development program that uses running as a secondary platform for having discussions about things like confidence, standing up for our friends, inner beauty, and leadership. Your daughter does not need to know how to run or may not have ever expressed an interest in running, but don't let that stop you from considering this program. At the end of the 10 week program, the goal is to complete a 5K with an adult buddy. The 5k can be walked, walk-run or run. The program aims to help girls learn to enjoy physical activity, not competition.
Fall registration opened yesterday, August 28th. The team size is limited to 15, so there is a lottery period from August 28th to September 4th. All who sign up within that time will be entered into the pool. If the team is not full by that time, registration remains open until September 13th.
Practice will start September 17th and will run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-5:00 PM from the Falk Lobby.
Go to gotrmagee.org for more information and to register.
