Checkout Room 21's Stop-Motion Project

Saturday, January 28, 2017

Over the past couple of months the students in Room 21 have been working on a collaborative Social Studies and Technology project. The students were asked to notice the landmarks that they pass on their ways to school. Their landmarks could be anything; buildings, people, signs, parks, bridges, tunnels, traffic and even bumps in the road. The students then animated their commutes to school as well as the landmarks that they pass by. They made props out of paper and used their classrooms tablet stand to take photos of their vehicle passing by the various landmarks. Once filming had finished they added a voice-over to the video as well as music and titles. This study of landmarks and our commutes to school has helped the students gain a better understanding of the world around them as well as an understanding of where there peers live and how they get to school each day.

Here's our finished Commuter Project about the kids landmarks and their rides to school.  The kids are very proud of this project and so am I!
